Fundraising for Wishaw Neonatal unit

Community Compassion: A Journey from Bump to Bond to Baby"

fundraising for Wishaw neonatal unit

At Julie Keys Bump, Birth & Baby Classes and Couples workshops, the bond formed among expectant mothers is a fantastic bonus.

The journey of pregnancy intertwines these women's lives in unexpected ways, leading them to share not just advice and support, but also moments of joy and concern.

Unfortunately, some pregnancies face unexpected challenges, like premature births.

My First Born baby Emily, arrived 6 weeks early which meant several days spent in the care of Wishaw Neonatal unit, an experience that I will never forget, and so many of my Bumps Clients and their babies have had to spend time there, and is now why I am fundraising for the unit.

Fundraising event

Local mums from classes and friends rallied together to organize a charity night out to raise funds for Wishaw general Neonatal unit as many of the mums attending classes end up using this facility, demonstrating the power of community support.

The event, held on Valentine's weekend, symbolized love not just between partners but also for the most vulnerable members of their community. Through their collective efforts, they raised a commendable £500 for the Wishaw Hospital Neonatal charity. This generous donation reflects the deep gratitude felt towards the unit that provided crucial care during uncertain times for many of our local families.

A huge note of thanks and appreciation to all those mums that attended, helped and donated for the event in February.

Today marked a moment of significance as the funds raised were officially handed over to the dedicated staff of Wishaw General. Mary and Hazel Fleming, representatives of the hospital, received the donation with gratitude, acknowledging the impact it would have on enhancing the care provided to premature babies and their families. Beyond the monetary value, this gesture symbolizes a community's unwavering commitment to supporting those in need, embodying the true spirit of compassion and solidarity.

I also bumped into a few mums who have attended classes over the years and was lovely to see you xx

We are looking forwards to holding another event for Wishaw Neonatal unit later on in the year and hope to have as many mums as we can along to help raise funds for this amazing cause.
